We are seeking an Associate Director of Research to co-lead the research strategy and execution for Action Lab, ASU’s data-driven, research-focused service organization.
Every day you will make a difference in the lives of others by shaping and advancing a rigorous, actionable, and scalable research portfolio that directly informs institutional decision-making across enrollment, persistence, student success, innovation, and emerging technologies.
As a senior strategic advisor to executive leadership, you will be accountable for measurable impact and value realization from Action Lab’s research investments. You will oversee a diverse research portfolio, define success metrics, ensure methodological rigor and reproducibility, and track adoption and return on research insights. Reporting to the Senior Director or Executive Director of Action Lab, you will ensure Action Lab’s research capabilities evolve in step with institutional strategy, scale, and complexity while remaining deeply grounded in real-world decision contexts.
Essential Duties:
- Define and co-lead Action Lab’s applied research strategy across enrollment, persistence, student success, and educational innovation, ensuring alignment with EdPlus and ASU priorities.
- Oversee a portfolio of mixed-methods research and advanced analytics initiatives, ensuring methodological rigor, data integrity, reproducibility, and measurable institutional impact.
- Establish and execute existing Action Lab and ASU standards for data collection, research design, modeling, governance, and ethical data use; partner with analytics, Action Lab colleagues and other ASU teams to deliver scalable, actionable research products.
- Lead various analytics efforts, including portfolio management, intake, prioritization, service delivery, and lifecycle oversight, ensuring accountability for outcomes, not just outputs.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior and executive leadership, translating complex analyses into clear, actionable insights that inform planning, performance, and decision-making.
- Direct development of research products and staff to execute the work, KPIs, forecasting models, and performance measurement systems, co-supporting student success, operations, finance, and R&D.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team; oversee hiring, performance management, and professional development while fostering a culture of rigorous ethical and data-informed decision-making that is woven tightly with our analytics colleagues in Action Lab.
- Ensure compliance with IRB and data governance standards; represent Action Lab in cross-institutional partnerships, committees, and external engagements a guide and collaborative thought partner.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
NOTE: This is an in-person, hybrid position. Must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale Arizona three days a week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications:
- PhD in Statistics, Economics, Education Policy, Data Science, Organizational Research, Behavioral Sciences, Learning Science, or a related quantitative or interdisciplinary field.
- Seven to ten plus years of progressively responsible experience leading applied research and analytics functions in complex organizations (preferably higher education, edtech, or mission-driven enterprises).
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling an applied research or analytics organization with measurable institutional impact.
- Proven record of aligning research strategy to enterprise strategy and delivering actionable insights that directly influence executive decision-making.
- Demonstrated advanced expertise in quantitative methodologies first and foremost, including generalized linear modeling, mixed-effects models, causal inference, experimental and quasi-experimental design, structural equation modeling, and predictive analytics.
- Demonstrated fluency in integrating qualitative (minor skill) and quantitative (major skill) methods into cohesive, decision-ready narratives.
- Extensive experience using R and creating reproducible workflows.

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and collaborative Social Media Coordinator to join our Marketing team. Every day you’ll make a difference in the lives of others by supporting the day-to-day execution and operations of ASU Online’s social media channels, ensuring content is published accurately, consistently and scheduled across platforms.
You will play a critical role in keeping social media operations running smoothly. You will manage publishing workflows, coordinate assets and approvals, maintain content calendars, and support timely execution across platforms. Working closely with the social media team, you will help ensure that the strategy is executed with precision and operational excellence.
Essential Duties:
- Support the execution of the social media strategy by managing publishing operations, including scheduling, posting and maintaining quality assurance across platforms.

We are seeking a collaborative, problem-solving EdPlus Re-Entry Specialist to join our Success Coaching Center team. Every day you will make a difference in the lives of others by engaging in proactive outreach to undergraduate and graduate students who have paused their academic journey, identifying barriers to persistence and return. You will conduct in-depth consultations focused on financial considerations, academic pathways, and personal circumstances to support students in successfully re-enrolling.
You will focus on tailored guidance, connecting students with relevant resources, and explore all available options to facilitate a smooth return to ASU. Your success requires creativity, persistence, and a student-centered approach.
Additionally, you will collaborate closely with colleges, advising teams, and campus partners to build strong working relationships and ensure students have access to the tools, information, and support needed to achieve their academic goals.
Essential Duties:
- Engages in proactive outreach to resolve obstacles that are impeding students who have stopped out to return to an ASU program.
- Coach students on developing a plan to achieve their academic and career goals.
- Reviews completed degree information and remaining credits, as well as alternative program options with students; connects them with the appropriate advising department.
- Works closely with financial aid services, student business services and academic units to re-enter students and set them up for success.
- Provides support for student accountability and success through collaborative, ongoing connection, from initial contact through the first week back in class.
- Responds to student questions and concerns in a timely manner.

- Collaborates with supervisor for ongoing growth and development plans.

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and articulate EdPlus Financial Intake Specialist to join our high-performing team in the Success Coaching Center. Every day you will make a difference in the lives of others by assisting with the completion of necessary financial aid documents to ensure students are eligible for their financial aid certification. You will also perform outreach to students (and where applicable, other institutions) to facilitate collection of documentation to complete files. You will also answer general financial aid questions for students and work to resolve any obstacles to the students’ progress.
Essential Duties:
- Collects and reviews financial aid documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data from FAFSA, federal tax returns, financial aid transcripts, and other verification documents.
- Requests additional information regarding incomplete or inconsistent applications.
- Answers questions, inquiries, or requests of students and staff regarding financial aid eligibility and awards.
- Works as a liaison between staff and students to ensure optimal student experience and processing times.
- Serves as part of a support team for online students.
- Manages outbound call/ text/email campaigns as instructed by Lead to ensure financial aid file completion.
- Proactively partners with FASS team to escalate students requiring tier 2 assistance.
- Follows up on document/student action requests as directed by Lead to ensure accurate, timely receipt of financial aid information
- Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
