CPE at EdPlus is growing and learners are finding great value

Online Continuing and Professional Education at EdPlus has added nearly 2,000 enrollments since changing platforms in December to the Canvas LMS, e-commerce through PayPal and e-catalog and registration through Instructure. There are more than 100 courses in business, education, health and medicine, English as a second language, professional skills mastery, project management, science, soft skills and sustainability available online for career starters, career advancers, career changers and career crossers.

Continuing and Professional Education Director Darcy Richardson and her CPE staff partner with academic units including the WP Carey Center for Services Leadership, College for Health Solutions, College of Nursing and Health Innovation and the Biodesign Institute, among others, to offer non-traditional channels for individuals to obtain relevant skills and achieve professional and career goals. According to a recent survey of participants who have completed online CPE courses:

  • 80% rate the experience as very high to excellent;
  • 90% agreed or strongly agreed that the content in the course(s) was useful;
  • 90% stated that they were likely or very likely to recommend a CPE course at ASU to others.

Currently in development and soon to be launched are: Certificate in Service Experience Management; Resilience and Stress Management, a collaboration with Mayo Clinic and the ASU Center for Mindfulness, Resilience and Compassion; and User Experience and Interface Design.
