ASU graduates nearly 470 Starbucks partners

Via ASU Now

This semester, nearly 470 Starbucks partners from 40 states graduated from Arizona State University. Since the Starbucks College Achievement Plan (SCAP) was launched in 2014, more than 1,700 partners have earned their diploma, and more than 10,000 partners are now taking advantage of the program.

In addition to the Starbucks Partner and Family Open Forum hosted by Starbucks, partners who traveled to Arizona for the May 2018 commencement ceremony were also able to attend the ASU Online Welcome Reception hosted on Tempe campus by EdPlus at ASU. During the event, graduates were able to participate in cap decorating, met their success coaches and take a tour of campus.

Two partners got to attend the graduation ceremony from out-of-state with a Starbucks sponsored trip to Arizona through Starbucks’ Throw Your Cap contest, in which partners shared their SCAP journey in an essay or video.

All graduating partners were also honored at their respective stores with graduation kits that included their SCAP Grad apron, tassel, and graduation cap. Currently, more than 60 percent of company-owned stores have at least one partner enrolled in SCAP.

Congrats to all of our 2018 graduates!

The Starbucks College Achievement Plan is a partnership between Starbucks and Arizona State University, allowing Starbucks partners (employees) to enroll through ASU Online and take advantage of more than 70 fully-online undergraduate degree options. The university partnership with the global coffee brand is supported by EdPlus at ASU, which continues to work with university and Starbucks leaders to help the program continue to grow.
